Waste Less and Save More – Join the Circular Movement
About the Project
In May 2022, York Regional Council endorsed the Circular Economy Roadmap, which shows how York Region is using circular economy practices in our operations, programs and policies. A circular economy eliminates waste and pollution and conserves resources. It is a shift from a throw-away mindset to a circular one that extends the lifecycle of goods, food and resources through better design and continuous reuse, so nothing goes to waste.
Changing how we manage our waste is no small task; it will take all of us – government, businesses, community groups and residents to make the shift. We need your input as we develop programs, policies and supports to make York Region think and act in more circular ways to reduce waste and save resources.
We heard from you
Thank you for learning and sharing your ideas about circular economy activities and initiatives during our interactive webinar on Thursday, October 12, 2023 and through our online engagement tool.
Your feedback will help inform implementation of our Circular Economy Roadmap as well as updates to our SM4RT Living Plan in 2025.
