Senior Management

Bruce Macgregor is a seasoned senior management executive with more than 21 years of public service. In his current role as Chief Administrative Officer for The Regional Municipality of York, Mr. Macgregor brings an innovative approach to the delivery of programs and services to more than 1.1 million residents across nine local municipalities in York Region.

Providing leadership through experience and guidance within the organization, Mr. Macgregor oversees the Region's Senior Management Team in leading a staff of more than 3,400 employees across 13 core business areas.

Prior to his role as the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Macgregor provided two years of service as Commissioner of Transportation and Works at The Regional Municipality of York, and five years as Commissioner of Engineering and Public Works for the Town of Richmond Hill. Mr. Macgregor previously served as Director of Water and Wastewater Services and Capital Projects Manager during his lengthy tenure with the Region.

Both professionally and community-minded, Mr. Macgregor has leant his talents to many charitable organizations and causes throughout his career. He recently served as United Way York Region Cabinet Chair in 2010 and 2011 and as a United Way York Region cabinet member since 2008. He participated on the Character Community Foundation of York Region Board of Governors in 2012 and is an active member of the Civic Action Steering Committee for 2011 to 2015 term.

Mr. Macgregor holds an undergraduate degree in engineering from the University of Toronto and has completed post-graduate studies at the University of Toronto and Queen's University. His wealth of public and private sector expertise and impeccable credentials in engineering and administration provide an invaluable resource to The Regional Municipality of York and the residents he serves.
