Senior Management

Bruce Macgregor was appointed Chief Administrative Officer of The Regional Municipality of York on May 1, 2007. The duties and responsibilities of the CAO are set out in By-Law No. 2009-50 approved by Regional Council on November 19, 2009. Some highlights include:

• Co-ordinate, lead and direct Regional employees in the administration of the business affairs of The Regional Municipality of York in accordance with the by-laws, policies and plans established and approved by Council

• Co-ordinate the development of corporate policy and recommend such policy to Council

• Ensure Council is provided with complete, impartial and accurate information upon which to make informed decisions

• Exercise financial control over all corporate operations and budget expenditures

• Act on all Council directives and establish controls to monitor and report on them to Council

• Maintain effective relations at the administrative level with all other local government authorities in the Region and other government agencies
