• It was established in January 2003.
• Housing York is the eighth largest non-profit housing provider in Ontario.
• The number of Housing York properties: 33
• The number of Housing York tenants: 3,680
• The number of Housing York units: 2,078
• 83% of units are rent-geared-to-income; 17% are market rent.
• Housing York was one of the first affordable housing providers in Ontario to design buildings to achieve the status of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
• The Housing York building, Armitage Gardens, received an award for Best Practices in Affordable Housing from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
• Housing York is growing. New buildings are underway in Vaughan and Richmond Hill. Kingview Court is expanding.
