Frequently Asked Questions
CDIF funding is available for community service projects with clear and measurable outcomes that fall under one or more of the following priority funding areas and address identified service gaps.

  • Employment Supports – projects that address barriers to employment and increase access to jobs for low income families in York Region.

  • Family and Children's Services – projects that help prevent and reduce child poverty, promote attachment to the workforce or provide families and children with access to family-centred supports.

  • Homelessness Programs – projects that help people get off the streets, prevent homelessness or help those who are in emergency shelters move to permanent housing.
Within these priority areas, the CDIF strategy also funds agency capacity building, such as agency organizational development; equipment and technical developments of a minor capital nature; one time program setup costs; the development of fundraising and sustainability strategies; program evaluation costs and the development of core competencies (strategic planning, performance measurement and outcomes measurement or other relevant competencies).
