Mumps is making a comeback!
Cases of mumps have been increasing across Canada. To prevent such outbreaks in Ontario, The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is advising people to make sure their immunizations are up-to-date.

You might need another needle to be protected
|
Most people born between 1970 and 1991 received only one dose of mumps containing vaccine as children, which might not have been enough to provide long-lasting protection. Thus the Ministry is offering post-secondary students, those born between 1970 and 1991 and health care workers across Ontario the opportunity to receive a second dose of a vaccine called MMR – which protects against measles, mumps and rubella – free of charge.
