Using YorkExplorer Published Maps

 
Overview
Are you looking for a map in York Region that you may view, download, email or print? Visit York Region's Published Maps to explore the corporate collection of published maps available in PDF format. YorkExplorer Published Maps module is continuously evolving as new maps are added and map products are updated regularly. For more details about the map you can also visit YorkCatalogue and view the map metadata. YorkCatalogue is found by clicking Find Data on the navigation bar that appears on the left of the screen.
 
How to Access:

3. At the YorkExplorer home page click Published Maps
 
Published Maps access
 
Maps can be previewed in JPG format and downloaded in PDF format. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 4 or higher to download the map document.
 
Scroll through to view the seven categories of map products based on the International Standards Organization (ISO) geospatial information classification themes: Boundary, Economy, Natural Environment, Health and Safety, Demographics, Society, Facilities and Infrastructure.
 
4. Click the Category you wish to browse.

Navigation Tips:
There are two ways to navigate Published Maps:
a.) By clicking on the category on the blue navigation bar on the left hand side of the view or
b.) By clicking on Published Maps on the navigation bar on the left hand side of the view and then navigating on the categories page to the category you wish to browse. This page was described in step four above.

How to View and Download Maps:
Once you have found the map you are interested in, you can preview or download it by using the links on the left side of the screen. Key information can be found in the centre pane of the screen, including a description of the map, the original page size, the date the map was last updated and the Regional Department the map was originally created for.
