Why does the Region collect statistics?

Statistics are one of the Region's important tools to provide us with a picture of the Region's current status and growth, they also give us some clues and glimpses of the future. From this information we can plan and develop appropriate policies and programs that are designed to better serve the Region's existing and future population.
