Vision 2051 is York Region's latest long-term strategic document, looking out at the next 40 years. This document establishes a blueprint for the Region and outlines the steps that we can take collectively to achieve our vision. Vision 2051 will provide guidance to Regional Council when making decisions, so that we are always moving ahead to achieve the kind of community that our citizens want York Region to be in the year 2051.
Vision 2051 contains 8 Goal Areas, that each contain a series of both Action Areas and Actions that collectively lead us in the direction of our Vision for 2051.
These Goals and Actions should not be viewed in isolation – they are all interconnected with one another and work together to achieve our desired future. Vision 2051 also contains a number of Guiding Principles that are applicable throughout all Goal Areas.
Vision 2051 advances our efforts in sustainability, fosters the health and well-being of our residents, and the liveability of our communities. It is through the bold and innovative actions within Vision 2051 that York Region will continue to foster strong, caring and safe communities.
