How are Speed Limits Determined?
Each year, the Region conducts a review of all assigned speed limits on the regional roads. This review considers:
- The speed that traffic travels along the roadway
- The collisions that have occurred
- Community concerns
- Road features
Did you know...
Many signs on the Regional roads need by-laws. Regional Council must adopt new by-laws if these signs need to be installed or changed. Examples of some of these signs include:
- Changes to speed limits
- Parking and stopping restrictions
- Turning restrictions
- Truck restrictions
- No passing
