What is the Role of the Development Construction Co-ordinator in the Approval Process?
The Development Construction Co-ordinator is responsible for monitoring the status of road works and municipal servicing within the Regional right-of-way resulting from development and MOE approvals. The following is a list of the Co-ordinator's primary responsibilities:

·         Attending Pre-Construction Meetings to advise Contractors of the Region's Standard Construction Practices

·         Monitoring the progress of construction projects and ensuring that mud tracking, damage and disruption to the Regional Road is kept to a minimum

·         Inspecting the construction project upon completion to ensure compliance with approved drawings and approval conditions

·         Reducing/Releasing Securities once the Co-ordinator is satisfied that the work has been completed to Regional standards.

What is required to get a Security Reduction?                                      The following items are required to initiate the Security Reduction Process:

  1.  For site plans, an agreement with the Owner and Region must be executed

  2.  Letter of request is required from the Applicant or Consultant

  3.  Letter of Certification from the Consultant certifying that the works are completed as per the approved drawings (Signed by P.Eng)

  4. Soils Consultant Final Report including material testing, analysis and compaction results

  5. Owner's signed Statutory Declaration

  6. Start of the Guaranteed Maintenance Certificate from the Electrical Consultant if applicable

  7. Copy of the Certificate of Substantial Performance

  8. Project substantially completed (with minor outstanding work the Consultant is to submit the estimated cost of incomplete work for our review)

  9.  All conditions in approval letter fulfilled

What is required to get a Security Release?                                         The following items are required to initiate the Security Release Process:

  1. The two year warranty period after substantial completion has lapsed,
  2. Letter of Request from the Applicant or Consultant,
  3. Owner's signed Statutory Declaration,
  4. A clearance report that all final work and deficiencies are completed and is to be submitted to the Development Construction Co-ordinator
  5. Clearance may be required from other Regional Branches or Departments, and
  6. Requires 'as built' drawings to be submitted from the consultant to the Development Construction Coordinator.
