What does the Development Approvals Section do?
The Development Approvals Section is responsible for reviewing, commenting, and monitoring construction on development applications from an infrastructure planning and engineering perspective. The Development Approvals staff comments on a wide range of technical details including property requirements, transit requirements, intersection design, road and servicing design, MOE approvals and development implications to the Regional road system.

 
What Type of Applications Does the Development Approvals
Section review?
The Development Approvals Section provides comments to the Region's Planning Department for the following applications:  

·         Local Official Plan Amendments

·         Regional Official Plan Amendments

·         Draft Plans for Subdivision

·         Draft Plans for Condominium

 

The Development Approvals Section is the Region's primary contact for the following types of applications:

·         Site Plans

·         Zoning Amendments

·         Consent Applications

·         MOE Transfer of Review Approvals (except Richmond Hill and Markham)

·         Detailed Engineering Reviews

·         Municipal Servicing Works on Regional Roads

·         Service Connection Approvals

·         Temporary Access Approvals

·         Landscaping, Road Occupancy and Encroachment Approvals
