The Planning and Development Approvals related of roads, transit, water and waterwater (sewers) in the Region of York are broken in to several functions.  Please visit the following branch web pages to read more information on the various sections and their responsibility in the Region.
 

Development Approvals Section

The Development Approvals Section of the Transportation Services Department is responsible for reviewing and commenting on development applications from an infrastructure planning and engineering perspective. Development Approvals Staff comment on a wide range of technical details including, property requirements, transit requirements, intersection design, road and servicing design, MOE approvals and development implications to the Regional road system.

Infrastructure Planning Branch

The Infrastructure Planning Branch of the Planning and Development Services Deparments mandate is to plan and monitor the current and future York Region road, transit and water and wastewater (sewer) infrastructure needs to ensure a sustainable balance of supply and demand. Through updates of the Region's Infrastructure Master Plans and Development Charges Bylaw, inputs to the 10-year Capital Program, monitoring of available capacity, review and coordination of infrastructure requirements to support development plans, and conducting region wide and area specific infrastructure studies, the Branch is responsible for identifying the Region's infrastructure requirements to meet the growing and diversified demands of the future.
