Guideline Purpose:

These guidelines have been developed to assist York Region Staff and Consultants who prepare Construction Tender Packages and Engineering Drawings for the Regional Municipality of York.

Tender Packages and Engineering Drawings developed in accordance with these guidelines will identify potential conflicts prior to construction, require fewer redline corrections, reduce plan review time by Regional staff, minimize engineering and plan review costs for consultants and ultimately save time and costs for all parties involved.

Guideline Updates:

These guidelines receive continuous updates and improvements.  It is recommended that Consultant's frequent this site on a monthly basis to ensure the latest version is in use.  A Tracking document has been established to assist you in your updates. 

How To Use this file:

1.       Save the zipped file (Download) to your network server or computer desktop location

2.       Extract the zipped file to an appropriate directory on your file server or computer desktop

3.       Open the MS Word Document. 

As you scroll through the MS Word Document, you will notice a number of hyperlinks (Blue Text).  These hyperlinks will take you to various design tools and forms as contained in the Appendices; they will also take you to valuable web-page resources.

The intent of all tools and templates within the Appendices is to serve as a template document that can be modified to suit the needs of your project.

To use the hyperlinks, press and hold the Ctrl Key on your keyboard and double click the hyperlinked text.

4.       Should you experience problems with the hyperlinks, copy the files directly to a CD and access the guidelines through the CD.
