The Regional Municipality of York's Sign Bylaw allows for the placement of election signs along Regional roads six weeks in advance of an election.
Monday, September 13 marks the first day that election signs may be placed along Regional roads leading up to the municipal election on Monday, October 25.
All election signs placed along Regional roads must be removed within 72 hours of the closing of polls. Any remaining election signs along Regional roads after Thursday, October 28 at 8 p.m. will be removed by York Region road crews, disposed of and/or recycled.
Sign placement along Regional roads is subject to certain conditions specified in the Fact Sheet listed below. Signs in contravention of these conditions will be removed and stored until the end of the election. These signs can be claimed by candidates by appointment.
