June 23, 2003 York Region Transit launches the "Wonderbus" - express service to Canada's Wonderland

NEWMARKET - Effective June 28^th, York Region Transit (YRT) is introducing the "Wonderbus", an express bus service to Paramount Canada's Wonderland. The Wonderbus will operate on weekends and holidays only, via Highway 400, Highway 407 and Highway 9. Express services will stop at designated locations in York Region.

The new express routes are:

Route 318 - Wonderbus via 407/400 (serving Markham/Richmond Hill/Vaughan)

Route 319 - Wonderbus via 400 (serving Newmarket/Aurora)

In addition to the Wonderbus, the following YRT routes also service Paramount Canada's Wonderland:

TTC Route 165D - Weston Road North (Saturday, Sunday and holidays)

YRT Route 4 - Major Mackenzie (Seven days a week and holidays)

Cash fare	$2.25
YRT Express Ticket	10 for $20.00
Family rate	$7.00*
YRT transfer	Valid YRT transfer + $0.25 supplement**

* The family rate includes two adults and two children or one adult and three children. Children must be elementary school age or younger. Infants under two years of age travel free.

** A valid YRT transfer includes a transfer from another YRT route, from TTC routes operating north of Steeles Ave. or from GO Transit Yonge 'C' and Bayview routes.
