York Region Transit assumes GO Services

NEWMARKET - York Regional Council has approved the purchase of 36 buses for up to $7.1 million from GO Transit and the assumption by York Region Transit of GO’s Yonge "C" and Bayview bus services within the Region.

"There will be no impact on service to the public. Schedules will be kept the same and there will be no change to the fare system. This is simply a transfer of responsibilities between GO and us," said York Region Transit General Manager Don Gordon.

The transfer will take effect in August.
