York Region Fall Forest Festival


NEWMARKET – Discover the beauty of the York Regional Forest at the York Region Fall Forest Festival.  This event is open to the public and features a variety of fun and educational forest events.

 

 WHEN:           Saturday, September 20th

                        10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

WHERE:        York Regional Forest North Tract

                        17054 Highway #48, approx. ½ km south of Regional Road 31 (Davis Dr.)

 

DESCRIPTION:

 

  • Enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride while learning about sustainable forest management.
  • Pick up your hot off the press Everyday Guide to the York Regional Forest – this updated reprint of our popular forest users’ guidebook includes trail maps for all Forest Tracts, forest information and much more.
  • Introduce your children to the benefits of trees while testing your identification skills
  • Step back in time and witness horse logging the way pioneers did it
  • Learn about healthy hiking, hunter safety, wolf research, fur bearer management, and various forest wildlife and vegetation right in the Forest!
