York Region holding series of seminars on global market opportunitiesNEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York is holding a series of seminars to assist companies with their exporting efforts entitled “Diversification: Striving for Export Opportunities in Foreign Markets”. The United States represents only 4.6% of the world’s population according to the United Nations. Double-digit contributors are Asia at 60.7%, Europe at 12% and Africa at 13.37%. Canadian exporters to India in 2002 were valued at $674 million and growing.
The following seminars will familiarize companies with the programs and information needed to succeed in the global marketplace. They will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Richmond Hill Country Club, located at 8905 Bathurst Street (near Hwy 7) in Richmond Hill:
• Wednesday, April 21st – Explore European Opportunities
• Wednesday, June 30th – Explore Asian/Pacific Opportunities • Wednesday, September 22nd – Explore Middle Eastern Opportunities • Wednesday, November 17th – Explore Latin American Opportunities Cost is $25 per seminar or $75 for the series of four seminars.
