York Region releases 2003 Annual Report

NEWMARKET– The Regional Municipality of York released its 2003 Annual Report, entitled "Achieving Results Together".

 

"The theme of this year's report fittingly describes our achievements over the past year," said Bill Fisch, Regional Chair and CEO.  "It was through the work and commitment of Regional Council, area municipalities, Regional staff and our other partners that we accomplished so many achievements in 2003."

 

The Annual Report highlights information on Regional Council, Committee and staff accomplishments, audited financial statements, plus a five-year review.

 

"As a Region, we strive for improvement every year," said Markham Mayor Don Cousens, Chair of the Finance and Administration Committee.  "Together, we have established creative partnerships and innovative service delivery with sound fiscal management in order to provide service to a growing region."

 

The Annual Report also features a description of the nine area municipalities, and a list of the core services provided by the Region.

 

The Annual Report is available for pick up at the York Region Administrative Centre information kiosk. A web-friendly version of the report is also being created and will be available via York Region's Web site at the end of July.
