Learn about business opportunities in Latin America


NEWMARKET –  The Regional Municipality of York is holding its fourth and final seminar in the "Diversification: Striving for Export Opportunities in Foreign Markets" series aimed at assisting companies with their exporting efforts.   
 
On November 17th, learn about opportunities in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.  They include three of Canada's free-trade partners:  Mexico, Chile and Costa Rica, and are members of the Free Trade Association of the Americas, a new collaboration of 34 democratic governments to ensure prosperity, democracy and free markets for goods and services by 2005.
 
Major areas of opportunity include mining, forestry, information technology and telecommunications, power and energy, food and beverages, transportation and infrastructure and environmental engineering.  There are also many country-specific niche markets worth pursuing.
 
Sponsored by TD Commercial Banking, the seminar will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Richmond Hill Country Club, located at 8905 Bathurst Street (near Hwy 7) in Richmond Hill.
