York Region invites proposals from agencies serving the homeless for Winter Needs Funding

 

NEWMARKET –  The Regional Municipality of York invites agencies serving the homeless community or those at risk of being homeless to apply for Winter Needs Funding, under York Region’s Community Development Investment Funding Strategy.  Proposals, to a maximum of $8,000 per proposal, should help agencies meet their needs for the upcoming winter and must be consistent with the Region’s overall community plan to address homelessness.

 

Winter needs projects could include sleeping bags and other supplies; furniture and appliances for shelter providers and those organizations providing services to the homeless; and other items that will have a direct impact on the improvement of services to the homeless over the coming winter months.

 

Interested agencies should submit a completed Winter Needs Funding Request form no later than 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2004 to:
