Paramedics become Santa's helper on Christmas Eve

York Region paramedics help make children's hospital experience "bear-able"

NEWMARKET – On Christmas Eve, paramedics from York Region Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will distribute toy teddy bears to children in the emergency rooms and children's wards of York Region hospitals.

The 350 teddy bears were generously donated by Ganz: The Teddy Bear Company to York Region EMS for distribution.  Giving these bears to ill and injured children will help make a frightful Christmas experience a bit brighter and more "bear-able".

The media is invited to attend a photo opportunity with paramedics loading the toy teddy bears into the emergency vehicles before they depart from the station.

When:   Saturday, December 24, 2005, 11 a.m.
Location: 520 Cane Parkway, Newmarket
