Car seat safety check in Sutton

 

NEWMARKET- York Region Health Services Department is committed to reducing motor vehicle collision-related injuries and deaths in children.

 

Children under nine years of age are at greatest risk.  In Ontario, in 2002, 28 children were killed and another 3,114 injured in motor vehicle collisions.  One reason for these injuries and deaths was incorrect car seat use.  In York Region, 92% of the car seats checked since 1998 have not been used correctly. 

 

York Region Health Services is offering a free car seat safety check in Sutton to assist parents in learning how to properly install their child's car seat.
