York Region Transit (YRT) to offer veterans free bus rides on 60th Anniversary of VE Day

NEWMARKET – To mark the 60th Anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day, York Region Transit (YRT) will be offering free rides to veterans and one accompanying companion on Sunday, May 8th. 

 

Veterans should identify themselves to YRT drivers by wearing something such as medals or blazers or carry a military identification card or service papers.

 

Travel will be free all day across the YRT system.
