Safe Kids Week June 5 – 11, 2006
NEWMARKET – In collaboration with York Region Health Services: Keeping YorKids Safe Program, York Regional Police, The Community Safety Village and York Region Transit (YRT), are launching Safe Kids Week 2006. Safe Kids Week is an annual campaign that raises awareness about a specific type of injury and educates the public about prevention strategies. This year's campaign focuses on the devastating effects of preventable injuries in Canadian children. During this one-day launch, students will participate in a series of interactive safety workshops including seatbelt deputizing, bicycle helmet, fire, traffic and bus safety.
