York Region helps residents clear out their clutterPartnership with Goodwill Industries will help divert materials from landfillNEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York has partnered with Goodwill Industries for the third consecutive year, to offer a series of donation drives in 2006 to help residents clear out their clutter.
These donation events provide an opportunity for residents to divert valuable material from landfill and give other, less fortunate individuals, a chance to use them.
In 2005, York Region residents diverted over 8,000 kilograms of reusable goods from landfill through Regional reuse events such as donation drives.
The second of three donation drives will be held this Saturday at Hillcrest in the Town of Richmond Hill.
When: Saturday, June 3rd, 2006

Items being accepted include: • Clothing, shoes, boots, belts, purses
