York Region to hold 3rd Annual Litter Roundup Event For Grade 5 studentsOver 4,700 students and 80 schools pitching in to help the environment
NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York will be holding its 3rd Annual Litter Roundup Event for over 4,700 Grade 5 students in Public and Catholic elementary schools across York Region on Thursday, October 12th.
Approximately 80 schools will be participating in the event this year to do their part to help the environment, which represents a 25-per cent increase from 2005. The Litter Roundup Event will help educate future generations on the effects of littering and what individuals can do to prevent the creation of litter. Event sponsor Tim Hortons will be providing an educational game to all involved schools as a reward for participation in the event.
