York Regional Council to proclaim May Easter Seals MonthNEWMARKET – On Thursday April 27th, York Regional Council will proclaim the month of May to be Easter Seals month in celebration of the 30th Annual Persechini Easter Seals Run/Walkathon.

May 28th marks the 30th year for the Annual Persechini Easter Seal Run/Walkathon, to be held in the Town of Newmarket. The Regional Municipality of York will join with York Regional Police to kick-off its participation in the annual event.
Each year an average of 1,000 people participate in the Persechini Run/Walkathon. Last year’s event raised more than $100,000 in support of Easter Seals.
To date, more than $3 million has been raised in support of Easter Seals.
