The Regional Municipality of York recognizes 9-1-1 CommunicatorsTri-Service Awards give unsung heroes of emergency response their dueNEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York will honour our 9-1-1 communicators during the Tri-Services Awards Ceremony tonight (Tuesday, April 10th), 7 p.m. at the York Region Administrative Centre.
The awards recognize job performance excellence by 9-1-1 emergency dispatch personnel from Fire, Police and Ambulance.
A special Junior 9-1-1 award will also be presented to Jason Singh Samra, a six-year old resident of the City of Vaughan. Jason, who was five at the time, called 9-1-1 when his father became seriously ill and required emergency care. Jason's quick actions and level-headedness helped saved his father's life.
