York Region roads re-open after damage from storm

 

 

NEWMARKET – All Regional roads in York Region have re-opened following a violent storm that passed through the area late Monday afternoon.  The storm brought down numerous hydro lines, blacking out traffic signals and sending debris onto the roadways.

 

York Regional Police, York Region Transportation and Works staff and hydro utility crews have been working since the storm to clear the roadways and restore power.

 

York Region would like to thank motorists for their understanding and patience during the temporary road closures, and asks motorists to continue to exercise caution where minor cleanup is still taking place.
