YRT/Viva staff to greet riders with snacks at two YRT/Viva bus terminals

NEWMARKET � York Region Transit (YRT)/Viva is hosting Customer Appreciation Day on Thursday, October 18^th at two YRT/Viva bus terminals.

Throughout the morning and afternoon rush hours, YRT/Viva employees will be at Richmond Hill Centre Terminal and Finch GO Bus Terminal to answer questions, provide transit information and thank customers for their continued ridership and support. Snacks will be available while quantities last.

DATE: Thursday, October 18^th

TIME and LOCATION: 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Richmond Hill Centre Terminal

Highway 7 and Yonge Street (beside Silver City Cinema)

Town of Richmond Hill

*Media Spokesperson will be present at this location

4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Finch GO Bus Terminal

BACKGROUND:

� York Region operates conventional YRT service, Viva Rapid Transit and

door-to-door Mobility Plus service for individuals with disabilities

YRT/Viva offers approximately 100 routes throughout the nine municipalities of York Region
More than 17 million riders used YRT/Viva in 2006
Customer Appreciation Day is observed twice a year by YRT/Viva
