YRT/Viva reminds residents to plan ahead during GO bus strikePossible GO bus strike will impact YRT/Viva services; planning ahead is best course of actionNEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York advises residents to use the York Region Transit (YRT)/Viva website and Customer Service Centre to keep informed and plan ahead in the event of a GO Bus strike beginning Monday, January 7th.
Customers can visit the YRT/Viva website at www.yrt.ca, or call the Customer Service Centre at
1-866-MOVE-YRT (668-3978). The Route 69 – Sutton GO bus will not be in service if the strike occurs. YRT/Viva riders relying on this service are advised to arrange an alternate method of travel.
Other impacts experienced by YRT/Viva services during the GO Bus strike may include:
• YRT/Viva vehicles unable to enter GO Transit terminals and property • Service delays due to possible detours and increased passenger volume Customers are reminded that valid YRT/Viva tickets and passes are required to board YRT/Viva services.
