Warden Avenue to remain closed all day between Denison Street and Masseyfield Gate

Earlier traffic accident under investigation by York Regional Police

NEWMARKET – York Regional Police advise that Warden Avenue between Denison Street and Masseyfield Gate in the Town of Markham will remain closed throughout the day as an investigation continues into an early-morning traffic accident that severely injured two people and damaged local hydro lines.

Motorists are requested to avoid the area, if possible.  Detours have been established for north-south travel along Hood Road, which lies due west of Warden Avenue.

Hydro crews are on scene, working to repair a hydro pole that was knocked down during the traffic accident.
