Yonge Street and Bayview Avenue lane reductions

Broken water main at two Town of Richmond Hill locations to cause delays
NEWMARKET – Northbound traffic is reduced to one lane on Yonge Street north of 16th Avenue and Bayview Avenue north of High Tech Road in the Town of Richmond Hill due to broken water mains.  Ongoing delays are expected while repairs are completed over approximately the next 24 hours.

Staff from York Region’s Transportation Services department and the Town of Richmond Hill are working diligently to restore full two-lane access as soon as possible.  Residents are advised to expect delays during repairs, particularly during rush hour periods.

Signs have been placed at the intersections to alert residents of the lane reductions.  Northbound drivers are encouraged to use Bathurst Street or Leslie Street as alternative routes.
