Broken watermain closes westbound lanes on Langstaff Road between Dufferin Street and Pleasant Ridge Avenue

Traffic reduced to one lane in each direction

NEWMARKET – The two westbound lanes of Langstaff Road between Dufferin Street and Pleasant Ridge Avenue in the City of Vaughan have been closed due to a broken watermain.

Traffic has been restricted to one lane in each direction as motorists have been re-routed to the eastbound lanes.

The broken watermain has caused significant pavement damage, as well as damage to hydro utilities.  Work crews from York Region and Powerstream are on-site assessing damage.

The closure will keep the lanes closed throughout the evening rush hour and through the weekend.

York Region will issue an update when the lanes are re-opened.
