York Region and the Town of Newmarket offer a low-cost rabies clinic to dog and cat owners


NEWMARKET
– York Region Community and Health Services in partnership with the Town of Newmarket will hold a low-cost rabies clinic.  Pet owners are encouraged to attend and have their dog or cat (over three months of age) vaccinated against rabies. 
 
Rabies is a preventable viral disease that is most often transmitted through the bite or scratch of a rabid animal.  Without medical intervention, prior to the appearance of symptoms, rabies can be fatal.
 

When:  Sunday, May 25th
  10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
 
Where: Hollingsworth Arena
  35 Patterson Avenue
  Town of Newmarket
 
Cost:  $15/per vaccination (GST included)
  Cash only please 
 
For the safety of the pets and pet handlers, all animals must be under control either on a leash or in a pet carrier.  All pit bulls, any bit bull terrier, Staffordshire terrier, American pit bull terrier or a dog that has the appearance and physical characteristics that are substantially similar to the dogs referred to must also be muzzled.
