 Langstaff Road remains closed

York Region continues work in the area to ensure safety of motorists
NEWMARKET – Langstaff Road from Dufferin Street to Highway 7 in the City of Vaughan will remain closed as York Region staff continues to deal with ground settlement in the area.

Pavement damage from ground settlement associated with tunnelling operations of the Bathurst Collector and Langstaff Trunk Sewer project prompted the closure on May 2nd.  Since then staff have been working continuously with our contractor to stabilize the area.

Lanes will be re-opened only after soil testing and extensive monitoring demonstrate that it is safe to do so.

Access for local residents continues to be maintained, however, commuters are advised to use the following alternate routes: Keele Street, Dufferin Street, Bathurst Street, Rutherford Road, Centre Street, Highway 7 and Highway 407.

As work continues over the coming weeks, York Region would like to thank residents and motorists for their patience.  Further updates will be provided as the situation progresses.
