York Region and the Pefferlaw Association of Ratepayers (PAR) offer a low-cost rabies clinic to dog and cat ownersNEWMARKET – York Region Community and Health Services in partnership with the Pefferlaw Association of Ratepayers (PAR) will hold a low-cost rabies clinic. Pet owners are encouraged to attend and have their dog or cat (over three months of age) vaccinated against rabies.
Rabies is a preventable viral disease that is most often transmitted through the bite or scratch of a rabid animal. Rabies vaccinations protect pets and humans around them from acquiring this disease. Without medical intervention, prior to the appearance of symptoms, rabies can be fatal.
When: Saturday, September 20th 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Where: Pefferlaw Firehall

Cash only please For the safety of the pets and pet handlers, all animals brought to the clinic must be under control either on a leash or in a pet carrier. All pit bulls, any pit bull terrier, Staffordshire terrier, American pit bull terrier or a dog that has the appearance and physical characteristics that are substantially similar to the dogs referred to must also be muzzled.
