Northbound lanes of Highway 427 north of Highway 7
in the City of Vaughan to remain closed

Work continues to determine cause of earlier pavement damage
NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York will keep the northbound lanes of Highway 427 north of Highway 7 in the City of Vaughan closed as a safety precaution, as work continues relating to pavement damage sustained earlier this week.

York Region continues to work closely with the Ministry of Transportation and local utilities on the cause of localized pavement shifting on the northbound portion of the highway and to complete temporary repairs to reopen the lanes as soon as possible.

Permanent repair work is anticipated to take place in the spring when weather permits.

York Region thanks motorists for their ongoing patience as the temporary repairs are completed.  Further updates will be issued as new information becomes available.
