York Region begins annual seasonal influenza campaignInfluenza vaccine available to all York Region residents over the age of six months NEWMARKET – The flu season is almost here and the flu vaccine is again available free of charge to all Ontario residents over the age of six months. The Regional Municipality of York encourages residents to get their flu shot as early as they can. This year’s seasonal influenza will provide protection against the main circulating flu viruses in our community, including the H1N1 strain. The 2010/2011 York Region campaign will officially kick off at the York Region Administrative Centre on Monday, November 1. Dr. Karim Kurji, York Region’s Medical Officer of Health, will receive his annual flu vaccination and be available for media interviews.
