[see also Attachment 1] 3 2005 WASTE DIVERSION SUCCESSES [see also Attachment 1] 4 ASSOCIATION OF MUNICIPAL RECYCLING COORDINATORS 2005 PROMOTION AND EDUCATION AWARDS [see also Attachment 1] [see also Attachment 2] [see also Attachment 3] 5 UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS The Solid Waste Management Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Solid Waste Management Committee with the following action: COMMUNICATIONS 1. Town of Georgina, January 24, 2006, referring the letter from the Town of Greater Napanee dated January 12, 2006 requesting support for a resolution regarding Richmond Landfill Expansion, to York Region for comments. Received and referred to staff. OTHER BUSINESS 2. Community Environmental Centre, Vaughan The Committee was given an update regarding the status of the Community Environmental Centre to be located at the Dufferin Works Yard in Vaughan. Following public objection to this site, the City has requested the Region to consider an alternate site in Vaughan. Staff will report back to Committee in April regarding an alternate location for the Community Environmental Centre. 3. Dongara Developments Inc. The Committee was advised that the Region's expected use of this facility will begin in early 2008 and that Dongara is working with the Ministry of the Environment and the City of Vaughan to receive all necessary approvals. The Solid Waste Management Committee adjourned at 10:03 a.m. Respectfully submitted, March 8, 2006 M.
