16  UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS

 

The Finance and Administration Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Finance and Administration Committee with the following action:

 

 

AWARD

 

1. Mayor Van Bynen congratulated Lloyd Russell, Commissioner of Finance, and all the Finance Department staff who were involved in the Region winning the National Institute of Government Purchasing award for demonstrated excellence in public sector procurement. The Region was one of only two Canadian recipients of this prestigious award, and the only municipal recipient. Lloyd Russell, in turn, thanked Tom Appleby, Stan Gal and Susan Auld of the Supplies and Services section for all of their hard work.

COMMUNICATIONS

 

1. Connie Phillipson, Executive Director, Regional Municipality of York Police Services Board [2.8MB], November 22, 2007, regarding the 2008-2010 Draft Business Plan. Received and the Regional Clerk to forward a copy of the 2008-2010 Draft Business Plan to the local municipalities.

 

2. Regional Councillor Frustaglio, City of Vaughan, forwarding a resolution regarding funding support from the Regional Municipality of York for the Vaughan Hospital. Received and referred to the Chief Administrative Officer for a report to the Committee.

 

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

Mayor Scarpitti received the Committee's approval to introduce the motion relating to GTA Pooling Savings that is set out in Clause 15.

 

 

The Finance and Administration Committee adjourned at 11:07 a.m.
