16  UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS

 

The Transportation and Works Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Transportation and Works Committee with the following action:

 

 

ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR

 

1. Mayor W. Emmerson was elected Chair and Mayor R. Grossi was elected Vice Chair of the Transportation and Works Committee for 2007.

 

 

PRESENTATIONS                      

           

2. Bruce Macgregor, Commissioner of Transportation and Works, regarding 'Transportation and Works Initiatives – 2006 to 2010 Term'.  Received with a direction that staff prepare a report regarding current and projected capital needs based on the growth expected to be accommodated over the next 20 years.

 

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

3. In accordance with published advertisements, the following matter was placed before Committee to facilitate the hearing of any person who wished to speak to the matter, if any, in compliance with the Municipal Act 2001.  No person having appeared, the matter was Received.

 

STOPPING UP AND CLOSING OF A PORTION OF TESTON ROAD (Y.R. 49), CITY OF VAUGHAN

 

(a) The stopping up and closing of that part of Teston Road (Y.R. 49) in the City of Vaughan in The Regional Municipality of York (geographic Township of Vaughan in the County of York) being part of the road allowance between Lots 25 and 26, Concession 5 designated as Parts 11 and 12 on Reference Plan 65R25880.

 

(b) The conveyance of Parts 5, 11 and 12 on Reference Plan 65R25880.

 

4. Staff was directed to prepare a report regarding the Department's management of Regional road construction contracts, including timeliness, safety and congestion issues.

 

 

The Transportation and Works Committee adjourned at 11:02 a.m.
