public meeting at 9:30 a.m. at which any person who attends will have an opportunity to
make representation regarding the application by Neamsby Investments Inc. to permit
the Kennedy and Denison Shopping Centre to remain open on specified holidays.

12. MOTION
David Dunlap Observatory, Town of
(Clause 13 Item 6 of Planning and Economic Development Committee Report No. 1)
WHEREAS the David Dunlap Observatory site is approximately 77.5 hectares of land in the centre of the Town of
AND WHEREAS the observatory building and adjacent structures have cultural and historic significance to the Town of
AND WHEREAS up to 38.5 hectares of the property have been identified as significant woodlands in the York Region Significant Woodlands Study (2005), making this site an extremely important natural heritage resource for the Town of
AND WHEREAS York Region staff will assist in the interpretation and implementation of the Region's Forest Conservation By-law;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. York Region Council supports the Town of
2. The criteria to be used in evaluating the significant natural heritage features of the David Dunlap Observatory lands be those found in the York Region Significant Woodlands Study (2005).
3. Any Master Plan completed for the site provide for the retention of significant Cultural and Natural Heritage features.
4. The Regional Chair send a letter with this motion to the Premier of Ontario, Town of Richmond Hill, University of Toronto, the Federal Minister of Finance, the Federal Minister of Environment, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Minister of Natural Resources and the Ontario Heritage Foundation.
