The Transit Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Transit Committee with the following action:

 

 

ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR

 

1. The Transit Committee elected Regional Councillor Joyce Frustaglio as Chair and Mayor Tony Van Bynen as Vice-Chair of the Committee for the year 2008.

 

 

PRESENTATIONS

 

2. Rajeev Roy, Manager, Transit Management Systems and Mary Lou Johnston, Manager, Marketing and Customer Service, York Region Transit regarding 'Web-based Trip Planning'.  Received.

 

3. Rajeev Roy, Manager, Transit Management Systems, York Region Transit, regarding 'On-Board Security Cameras'.  Received.

4. Monthly Ridership Statistics.  Received. 

 

5. York Region Transit staff were requested to investigate and prepare a future report for presentation to the Transit Committee regarding the feasibility of implementing a bus stop naming rights program, including the criteria used by other services with similar programs.

 

 

The Transit Committee adjourned at 11:04 a.m.
