The Transit Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Transit Committee with the following action:

COMMUNICATIONS

1. Shirley Cronin, Markham Unionville Support Team (MUST) dated October 9, 2008 to Mayor Scarpitti, Town of Markham, regarding reduced transit fares for individuals with intellectual challenges, and requesting deputant status.  Received and deputant status granted.

2. Jay Jordan, Chairman, Baldhead Systems Inc., dated November 26, 2008, regarding 'VIVA digital signage network', and requesting deputant status.  Received.

3. Roderick Wisco, President, Byte Media Inc., dated December 5, 2008, regarding 'Status of Byte Media Inc's screens installed on the VIVA buses', and requesting deputant status.  Received.

DEPUTATIONS

4. Patrick Cronin, Markham-Unionville Support Team (MUST) and Community Living York South.  Received and referred to staff for a report back to Committee early in 2009.

OTHER BUSINESS

5. Monthly Ridership Statistics.  Received.

(The monthly ridership statistics were included as an attachment in the agenda for the December 11, 2008 Committee meeting).

6. Issue papers from the Canadian Urban Transit Association were circulated for the information of Committee.
