The Finance and Administration Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Finance and Administration Committee with the following action.

 

 

COMMUNICATION

1. Mafalda Avellino, Executive Director, The Regional Municipality of York Police Services Board, October 26, 2009, forwarding a report adopted by the Police Services Board at its meeting on October 21, 2009, regarding the Amendment of Service Fees and Charges.  Recommended that Council approve the Police Service Board's By-law.

 

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

1. The Committee congratulated Virginia Hackson, Chair of the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, and Gayle Wood, CAO, on the Authority being recently awarded with the prestigious International Thiess Riverprize at the 12th International River Symposium and Rivers from Source to Sea Conference in Australia.

 

2. Dr. K. Kurji, Medical Officer of Health, provided an update regarding the H1N1 response.  Received.

 

 

PRIVATE SESSION

 

The Committee resolved into private session at 12:52 p.m. to consider the following:

 

1. Private Report of the Commissioner of Corporate Services – Retainer for External Legal Services – Solicitor Client.

 

The Committee resumed in public session at 12:55 p.m. with no report out.  The Committee's recommendation on the above matter will be forwarded to Council for consideration at its November 19, 2009 Private Session.

 

 

The Finance and Administration Committee adjourned its meeting at 12:56 p.m.
