The Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee with the following action:

 

 

COMMUNICATION

1. P. Madill, Regional Clerk, Durham Region, April 23, 2009, to the Hon. James J. Bradley, Minister of Transportation, regarding Durham Region's comments relating to Bill 163:  The Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area Transit Implementation Act 2009. Received.

 

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

2. The Committee was advised that Don Gordon, General Manager of York Region Transit, is retiring. The Regional Chair thanked Mr. Gordon, on behalf of the Committee, for his excellent leadership and hard work since joining the Region in 2000.

 

 

PRIVATE SESSION

 

The Committee resolved into private session at 10.20 a.m. to consider the following:

 

1.  Update by the Regional Solicitor regarding Rapid Transit Projects – Land Acquisition.

 

2. Update by the Vice-President, York Region Rapid Transit Corporation regarding Project Governance – Solicitor Client.

 

The Committee resumed in public session at 11:10 a.m. with no report out.  The Committee's recommendations on the above matters will be forwarded to Council for consideration at its May 21, 2009 and May 28, 2009 Private Sessions respectively.

 

 

The Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee adjourned at 11:11 a.m.
