Lois Davies, Program Manager, ODA/AODA, Community and Health Services Department, regarding 'Update on the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA)' Received.

Copy of letter from Denis Kelly, Regional Clerk to Regional Councillor Vito Spatafora, Chair, York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee dated June 25, 2010, regarding 'Declaration of Parallel Transit as Essential Service' Received and requested that the Community and Health Services Committee forward to Council, indicating the Accessibility Advisory Committee's support of the City of Kingston's motion to request that the Provincial Government declare all parallel transit an essential service. 2. Copy of letter from Denis Kelly, Regional Clerk to Regional Councillor Vito Spatafora, Chair, York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee dated June 25, 2010, regarding 'Mobility Plus Policy' Received and requested that the Community and Health Services Committee refer to staff in order to provide the current information regarding the policies pertaining to Mobility Plus eligibility. 3. Sharon Doyle, Manager, York Region Transit Mobility Plus, dated August 24, 2010, regarding 'Improving Our Services with You - Mobility Plus PIC Update' Received with thanks. 4. Irene McNeil, Director, Strategic Policy and Business Planning, Transportation Services Department, dated September 13, 2010, regarding 'Update on Fare Subsidy Requests' Received and referred back to staff with suggested changes as follows: 1. Consider alternate wording for 3 "Mini-Workshops" 2. Change wording under 'Target Audience' to read only "most in need", not "most needy" 3. Use more colour contrast and a larger font, to be more accessible for people with visual disabilities. 4. Re-word in order to be more inclusive, as the message seems to be directed at agencies which serve people with disabilities, rather than the people with the disability. 5. Ian Buchanan, Manager, Natural Heritage and Forestry Services, Transportation Services Department, dated September 20, 2010, regarding 'York Regional Forest Accessible Trail Initiative' Received with gratitude to Ian Buchanan and York Region staff for a commendable job. OTHER BUSINESS 1. Michelle Herder, Program Manager, Corporate Customer Service Strategy, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, regarding 'Level 3 Training Evaluation Status Update - Accessible Customer Service Training' Received. 2. Cordelia Abankwa-Harris, Managing Director, Strategic Service Integration and Policy Branch, Community and Health Services, regarding 'Reception for the 2006 - 2010 York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee' Received.
